Continental develops energy-efficient tires to reduce CO2 emissions and support the electrification of commercial vehicle fleets in Europe

In Hanover, Germany, Continental is focusing on the role tires play in electrifying commercial vehicle fleets in Europe through its Conti Eco and Conti Efficient Pro tire lines. Commercial vehicles contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, and the EU Emissions Regulation requires heavy-duty vehicle CO2 emissions to be cut by 45% from 2019 levels by 2030. Continental has developed these tire lines to enhance fuel and energy efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions and support fleet electrification. The reduced rolling resistance and high mileage offered by these tires are crucial for improving ecological footprints, especially in regional transport with frequent stop-and-go traffic. The Conti Hybrid tire is designed for such conditions.
