Italy’s aftermarket shows signs of a slowdown amid structural changes
Italian motorists feel the pressure of a sluggish economy and inflation in the first half of 2025, delaying nonessential repairs. Suppliers face the tariff squeeze and impact of slower volume growth, but growing digitalization and an ageing fleet offer opportunities.
Italy’s aftermarket recorded a slight decline in turnover in the first half of 2025, following a three-year period (2022-2024) of growth. The aftermarket turnover of the group companies within Italy-based National Association of the Automotive Industry Supply Chain (ANFIA) recorded a decrease of 0.7% in the first half of 2025, according to the association’s Aftermarket Barometer survey. The turnover in the same period of 2024 had recorded a growth of 4.2% year-on-year.
