India plans 360 kW charging stations to boost EV charging infrastructure
The initiative targets faster recharging for commercial vehicles, enhancing EV adoption and supporting sustainable transportation
The central government of India plans to install 360 kW charging stations along highways, expressways and bus stops to promote the electric vehicle ecosystem, particularly in the commercial vehicle sector. These high-capacity charging points are expected to benefit electric buses, trucks, and premium and luxury EVs from companies like Jaguar Land Rover, Audi and Mercedes-Benz by reducing recharge times to just 15 minutes. This initiative is crucial for commercial vehicles, enabling fleet managers to maintain operational schedules with minimal downtime.
