Goodyear Tire & Rubber has announced its plan to close a manufacturing facility in Kariega, South Africa, resulting in the loss of 900 jobs, according to a report by Dow Jones Newswires. The US-based tire company disclosed this decision in a securities filing on Thursday, June 5, indicating that the closure is part of its operations in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The facility is expected to be mostly closed by the end of this year.
