Toronto Hydro launches pilot to provide 480-V access for public EV fast charging

The initiative will support up to 10 projects, reduce infrastructure costs and complexity, and inform future EV charging standards in Toronto through 2027

Toronto Hydro announced a new pilot program aimed at giving local electric vehicle charging providers direct access to 480-volt power, with the goal of simplifying grid connections and making it faster and easier to expand public EV fast-charging stations across the city.
