Vehicle miles traveled analysis across key global markets: Third quarter 2025

This report presents updated VMT data and analysis for key select countries globally, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US. The dataset analyzed is for the calendar year 2023 for all countries, with the addition of calendar year 2024 data released for the US alone.

This report is an update of a previously published report “Global mileage trends and impact on the aftermarket” and captures key data points from other recent VMT reports including “Canada vehicle miles traveled; First quarter, 2025”, “European vehicle miles traveled; First quarter 2025”, “US vehicles miles traveled: Second quarter, 2024” and “US vehicles miles traveled: Second quarter, 2025”.

The report analyzes historic and the latest VMT at the national, fuel, brand, and body style levels, and for vehicle types from the 2010 model year (MY) to the 2023 MY and 2024 MY.

It uses data from S&P Global Mobility’s VMT platform, while the economic data and information are derived from the company’s economic publications and the Connect platform.
